How comforting it is to finally pursue something that isn't related to a tournament where everyone is screaming for threads in the last three days! As she skips through the forest looking for nothing in particular, Slippy is drawn to something in the distance, pointing at the bushes as she loosely wraps around Eris' neck.

Trusting her Dratini's instincts, she dares to sneak a peek, pulling the branches apart and taking a closer look. It's here that she discovers yet another Dratini, one that coos at Slippy and receives a chirp in kind. Not wishing to interrupt the conversation, Eris simply remains quiet and observes their interactions, smiling each time the dragons turn to look at her.

Are they trying to be friendly? She can't quite tell. But what she does know is that the Dratini is slithering up her offered hand, nudging her gently as she seems to settle in with the motley gang.

As they continue to wander along the water bank, Mercury eventually begins chirping at her, pulling at loose strands of hair in hopes of getting her to stop. And she does, the curiosity she holds for this Meltan's eye far outweighing her desires to remain on the move.

It hesitates, gingerly sliding off her shoulder and landing onto the ground with a solid 'splat'. Gurgling at the waters, it reaches in, clearly attracted to whatever it is that lurks below the surface. And the depths gaze back at it with void-like eyes, wide and ever expanding as an everlasting night spurts forth, dousing the Meltan in darkness that doesn't quite seem to wash off.

Of course, Mercury screams gutturally, earning the perpetrator a death sentence in Slippy's eyes. With a graceful cry of her own, the Dratini upends the stream with a Hyper Beam, roasting the poor Inkay as its fainted body floats to the surface. Not wanting to leave the Inkay out in the open like this, Eris gives the duo a mean glare as she taps a pokeball on the little squid's head.

Perhaps, she'll need to talk to them about anger management later.

When all's said and done, Mercury eventually does manage to get the ink off of itself, aided by a concerned Slippy as the duo begin flicking water at each other. While they're preoccupied with that, Eris dares to venture a little further, faithfully followed by her Luxray as the duo scour the riverbanks for any more notable pokemon.

Lo and behold, they chance upon a lone Wimpod bathing in the sun. Approaching with caution, Eris gives a hand signal and Reiner releases a jolt of energy, just enough to stun the Wimpod for a steady target. If all goes well, they'll be going home with a new buggy friend for her Snom, Boots!
